I am so glad you asked!! Props to you for being “different.” We as Christians are supposed to be different! Romans 12:2 says
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world.”So, if we Christians behave the way God asks us to, the rest of the world is most likely going to “make fun” because it is unheard of to them. God will give us the grace to deal with the persecution and the strength to love and pray for our persecutors.
Perhaps you are not necessarily talking about being different in behavior, but just in a general personality type. And to that I would say, praise God for making you unique! Take pride in your distinctiveness! You are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” (psalm 139:14) and that is a truth that applies to your physical attributes as well as your character!
People typically make fun due to the insecurities in their own life. You have the opportunity to show God’s unfailing love by obey what Jesus says to do in Matthew 5:44.
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”Maybe God wants to use you to change these people’s attitudes. Ask Him to soften your heart to those people, and maybe you can even begin friendships with them. They will see how cool God has made you.
Remember, God is smiling down on you! And even if other people do not accept you, God is proud to call you His own. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

Wow! I'm so glad I got this e-mail! I've been having problems with that and I was very confused. Definitely, God answered me through your message!!! Yeah, it is NOT easy to be Christian and different, but it is worth it all.(^-^)

My problem is that my personality makes it hard for me to communicate with people. I don't get made fun of, but I really don't have any TRUE friends. Yes, I have good friends at church, but no TRUE friends. I'm just not good at carrying on conversation and communicating with people. What should I do?

im super different. but i have a lot of friends. i just want everyone to know that you can be weird, but you have to own it! and people will respect you for it! i dont act all insecure cause i know im on the odd side (i read a lot and listen to the classical music station and teach myself to speak French) but i have God in my life! no one can make fun of me! sure i get teased every once in a while! who doesnt?! just laugh it off! people will notice and they will respect you! be yourself!!!

I have problems with people at school because I'm a Christian, and they purposely aggrivate me just to see what I do...It's so hard because my one TRUE friend moved to a different school, but God has really brought me through to see that life's not about what other people think bout you, but it's about what you believe and see in yourself...and I thank God everyaday for showing me that!!!:)
