A slightly new direction for Virtuous Reality!

As many of you know, Virtuous Reality is committed to investing in the lives of young women through an outreach of events, resources and online media. Being involved in such an endeavor has personally been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Our first event was held in 1998 and was planned out of the kitchen of my home with myself, one willing volunteer, my handy Visa card, and a whole ‘lotta prayer! Since that time, the ministry has grown to reach over 150,000 moms and girls a year (through events, resources, and our website) with the message of Biblical virtue.

This fall marks our ten year anniversary of doing events. However, it is clear that God is leading us in a slightly new direction and as a result, the scheduled Fall, ‘07 Between and Yada Yada events will end our decade-long season of events. If you are a fan of our Yada Yada and Between events, do not be dismayed--there is good news! We are partnering with LifeWay to expand the “You and Your Girl” events to ensure that a quality mother/daughter event will continue to be offered. Planning and implementing events is very labor-intensive and by handing management over to LifeWay, it will allow Virtuous Reality to concentrate on our rapidly growing web-based audience (virtuousreality.com and virtuealert.com).

We are excited about our new focus for the ministry and hope you will continue to partner will us to make virtue a reality in the lives of young women.

Forever His,

Vicki Courtney

Austin, Texas (May 1, 2007) - Virtuous Reality (VRM), a not-for-profit ministry aimed at encouraging and supporting tween and teen girls and parents in their faith, today announced the re-launch of its website, virtuousreality.com, an online magazine for teens. Initially launched in 2000, the redesign comes after months of research, planning and development to provide the online community a much needed resource in countering negative messages about beauty, love and truth prevalent in the media.

“In keeping up with the ever-changing demands of our youth culture, we recognize both the need and value for positive influences in their lives,” notes Vicki Courtney, VRM founder and best-selling author of the Teen Virtue series. “Our new site creates a space for teens to hang out, get informed and be encouraged.”

Sporting a new design, added features and interactive elements, the new site offers visitors easy navigation and a current pulse on teen culture. In being an online magazine, weekly articles and questions will offer advice on issues ranging from relationships and girl politics, to purity, peer pressure and spiritual health. New additions also include a prayer board, a VRM blog, a featured artist post and the opportunity for teens to comment on materials and issues presented.

Aside from online media, VRM offers a number of resources and events for tween and teen girls and parents tackling issues most relevant to the culture.
